Our Mission

A Stronger Tomorrow for Illinois Schools

The Illinois School Resource Officers Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making Illinois schools safer through professional training, collaboration, and leadership for School Resource Officers.

Founded in 2001, ILSROA connects school-based law enforcement and school administrators from across the state, building a network that helps officers educate, counsel, and protect the students and communities they serve.

Our History

The Illinois School Resource Officers Association (ILSROA) was founded in November 2001 by School Resource Officers from Normal and Darien, Illinois. The organization was created to connect SROs across the state and provide training specifically designed for law enforcement working in school environments.

ILSROA held its first annual conference in Normal in 2002, welcoming approximately 30 School Resource Officers. Since then, the association has grown significantly, with more than 400 school safety professionals and administrators, along with more than 30 vendors and industry partners, participating in its June 2026 conference.
